Brazil

The short clip of the film Brazil that we viewed showed two different sides to the character.
In the first scene, the main character is flying through the clouds with man made wings connected to a suit of armour. In this part of the clip, the lighting is soft, and warm, giving the feeling of freedom. Also the light seems to come from behind the character, giving off the impression that this character is powerful.
The camera is always on a low angle,  when the character is in view and also gives off the impression of power.
The music in the scene is calm and dreamy, that and the clouds give of the impression that the character isn't in the real world. As does his make up, as it is in a strange pattern down his face.

In the second scene of the clip, the character gets woken up by the ringing of his phone, and as the 'electrics' are playing up, he believes that he it is night until he taps the clock a few times. This gives off the impression that the main character is still out of it, as he doesn't realise the light streaming through the cracks in the blinds.
The the characters bedroom is quite bland and small, and there are chords hanging out of the phone left, right and centre. This makes the character seem stressed and lonely as there is only room for one and everything is cluttered.
The household appliances seem to be made so that you can't do things yourself, like someone is trying to make the human race lazy. Unfortunately said appliances don't seem to work properly as when the coffee machine messes up and pours coffee on the characters toast, he seems tired, as if this happens all the time, giving a hint as to how this new world is.
